#FIREFOX FOR MAC 10.6.4 PRO#
Just to be clear, I have no hard drives daisy chained to the Profire, and I don't even have Pro Tools installed on this computer since I've reinstalled the OS. I haven't tested to see if running sound from Pro Tools on output 3-4 will pass sound into the mixer on SW 3-4. This would also explain why Pro Tools went silent when I was trying to use it a few months ago, because output 1-2 of Pro Tools is again SW 1-2. So based on those results, the only thing not working that should have been working was the return from SW 1 and SW 2, which is where the sound comes from the macbook into the Profire 2626 mixer application. On Mic pres 1-8 and on ADAT A 1-8 (I have a Digimax LT on 1 ADAT port), I could get meters moving on those inputs, the mixer output, and hear the output of the mixer, which is my source for Analogue out 1-2 going to my monitors.

On a whim, I tested plugging the macbook pros headphone output into the Profire 2626 mic pres with RCA cables and the appropriate mini stereo to RCA and RCA to 1/4" adapters. Repeated switching back between the Profire 2626 and the internal speakers as the sound output would effectively turn on and off the sound, the silence occurring when the Profire 2626 was picked as my audio device. I went to system preferences>sound, and was able to get the macbooks built in speakers to play back sound from the DVD. I put in a DVD (star trek next generation season 2 and after about 90 minutes of playback, the sound cut out in the middle of viewing the show. I started to see the same issues as before, so I tried to do a bit more thorough examination of the problem. Since the Macbook Pro has only fw 800, I have to use a 400 to 800 adapter to plug in the Profire. I installed the Profire 2626 driver, repaired permissions, and set my power saving settings to never going to sleep, never putting hard discs to sleep, when on external power.
#FIREFOX FOR MAC 10.6.4 INSTALL#
I did a fresh installation of OS X from the install disc (10.6.3), updating immediately to OS X 10.6.4 combo update, per some previous instructions you've given to other people. I'm still having issues with the Profire 2626 and my 17' i7 Macbook pro PC - latest Chrome (recommended), Firefox or. Hi Joel, thanks for your replies to all these scattered postings. PC - Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7 Mac - OSX 10.6.4 or above. I checked out the tech support line, and it was like $35 an hour! I thought that was crazy when it's a bug with the unit.

The Profire is a great unit and works great on my Mac Mini, which I'm still using for all my audio work since it won't work on my new i7 17" MBP. I've posted on a thread with M-Audio, but not heard any response, so I'm posting hear.
